How to pay your babysitter

Hello Mums is Cashless!

Once your booking has ended, we'll automatically charge the babysitter's fee to your registered payment card and transfer it to your babysitter. If you want to learn more about this process, then please read on.

Before your booking starts, we apply something called a "pre-authorisation hold" to the payment card registered on your Hello Mums account. This is not a charge but just a temporary hold for the estimated amount of your babysitter's fee. We do this to ensure that we're able to charge your payment card once your booking has ended.

Once your booking has ended, your babysitter tells us whether they started later and/or finished later than planned. We then text you the final booking times and approximately 24 hours later, we automatically charge your payment card for the correct fee.

Please note that this text message is sent once your babysitter has told us that they have finished your booking. Therefore, there is sometimes a delay between your booking ending and you receiving the text message. If you still haven’t received the text message 24 hours after the booking has ended, then please contact Hello Mums.

If you want to add a tip, or dispute the times, click on the link in the text message. This will take you to your My Account where you can add an optional tip, complete the payment sooner, or dispute the times if you think they're wrong. Note that your babysitter receives 100% of the fee and any tip.
